University - UJEP
Assistant Professor at the Department of Physical Education and Sport
Univerzita J. E. Purkyně v Ústí nad Labem – Pedagogická fakulta (October 2023–present)
I have always been passionate about physical education and sports, and I enjoyed working as a PE teacher at various educational institutions for 15 years. I worked in different middle schools, high schools and even taught in private sector in Czechia, Denmark and China, where I gained valuable experience and insights into different teaching methods and cultures. However, I felt that I wanted to challenge myself more and explore new opportunities in the field of sports science.
That’s why I decided to apply for a part-time position at the University at sports Faculty, where I could conduct research, teach, and collaborate with other experts in the field. I was thrilled when I got accepted, and I have been working there ever since. I love my new job because it allows me to learn new things every day, share my knowledge and experience with students and colleagues, and contribute to the advancement of sports science. I also value the opportunity to use my international teaching experience, as I have taught PE in different countries and cultures. I want to influence future PE teachers to be the best versions of themselves and to inspire their students to love and appreciate physical activity. I also want to make sure that PE as a subject will be once again popular and respected among other subjects at schools, as I believe that it is essential for the health and well-being of the students.
My ultimate goal is to pursue my PhD. study in 2024 and become a full-time addition to the University Jan Evangelista Purkyne Usti nad Labem in Sports faculty. I see myself in teaching position at the university in subjects as ball games: basketball, handball, volleyball and would like to be part of skiing courses. The course I already teach is called ICT in PE and sports, where I introduce students to the latest technologies and applications that can enhance their teaching and learning of physical education and sports. I also have a keen interest in padel, which is a fast-growing sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. I would like to find a way the university can offer padel course program for university students and public, as I believe that it is a fun and engaging way to improve physical fitness and social skills. I believe that changing my job was the best decision for my personal and professional growth.
